SWA Design Handbook
The ‘Principles of Good Work Design – A work health and safety handbook’ (design handbook) has now been published on the Safe Work Australia website.   The link is  http://www.safeworkaustralia.gov.au/sites/swa/australian-strategy/action-areas/pages/healthy-and-safe-by-design.

This handbook is intended to be used by those with a role in designing work and work processes. It contains ten general principles  on how to achieve good design of work and work processes. The ten principles for good work design are structured into three sections:
1.  Why good work design is important
2.  What should be considered in good work design, and
3.  How good work is designed

The SWA Agency  is now seeking  some case studies and contacts to help promote the design handbook. Any ideas from NEOSHCF participants would be welcome.

Virtual Seminar Series (VSS) during Safety Month in October

A reminder, one of the themes  for Virtual Seminar Series (VSS) during Safety Month in October is ‘Healthy and safe by design’. Professor Sharon Parker will introduce the design handbook and a video will be available during Safety Month. Professor Sharon Parker conducted the literature review providing the evidence for the development of the good work design principles.
There are many more videos and case studies planned with live interactions and online discussions with key industry experts.
A draft VSS program will be available from the Safe Work Australia website in late August.
