The dates for Arborcamp 2010 have now been confirmed.  From the 18th – 21st of March the VTIO will be hosting a range of activites, competitions, talks and events in beautiful surroundings, to which you and your friends and family are all invited.  You can download the flyer here, or keep checking the Arborcamp page for more information.

The VTIO is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help put on this popular event.  It’s a great way to get involved, meet some new people and give something back to the industry.  Maybe you’ve got an idea for an activity or an event you could run?  Or a topic of interest on which you could deliver a talk?  Please get in touch with us to let us know as soon as possible:

The Victorian Tree Industry Organisation presents the

2009 Victorian Tree Climbing Championships

Details are still to be confirmed but the Championships will be taking place on Saturday Nov.7th 2009

In addition to the traditional A; B; and Womens’ Grades, the 2009 Championship will feature a C Grade Competition open only to student climbers with no competition experience, consisting of just the Work Climb and Footlock events.

The Queensland Arboricultural Association are holding their 2009 Arborcamp on Saturday 3rd October, and all are welcome.  There’s going to be lots happening, and plenty of familiar faces to catch up with, as several Victorians are heading up to give presentations or run workshops.  You can find out more about what’s happening and how to get there in their brochure, or print out and send in this application form.

The annual general meeting for the Victorian Tree Industry Organisation will be held at NMIT-Fairfield on Tuesday 1st September, 2009 at 6pm.

The agenda for the night includes a talk from Tom Greenwood on ‘Dealing with fire damaged trees’

Pizza & Beer will be on offer as food and refreshments

Annual General Meeting – including election of office bearers and committee members.

We would like to see all those people at the meeting who are interested in helping the VTIO continue to provide the annual Victorian Tree Climbing Championships and Arbor Camp.
